our intervention begins by
identifying obesity risk
factors including environmental,
behavioral, physical, dietary
and medical factors that may
be contributing to weight gain.

Our patients undergo medical, metabolic, dietary and behavioral
evaluation as the cornerstone of our weight loss assessment.

The next step is to make modification to improve these factors and control the weight increase.
A comprehensive plan is initiated including
dietitian guided nutrional modification, avoidance
of environmental hazards, life style modification, physical exercise and medical or surgical
weight loss intervention (based on NIH criteria).

The management of obesity is based on Body Mass Index—
which is a measurement use to assess body fat. BMI is calculated
by dividing weight in kilograms by the height in meters, squared:

BMI = Weight in Kilogram/Height in Meters²

Determining if you qualify for weight loss surgery
depends on many health and physical factors
including your Body Mass Index (BMI). In general,
you may qualify for weight loss surgery if you have a
BMI equal to or higher than 40 or if your BMI is
between 35 to 40 with a serious weight-related
condition such as diabetes or high blood pressure.
